I performed my first restring!!!

Thanks goes out to Costa for teaching me how to restring me acoustic on Saturday!
It was done under his supervision, and in the "Martin" way!

My Tanglewood Evolution TW28CLN that was originally strung with D'Addario EXP11's is now singing with Martin Clapton's Choice MEC12's.
Its definitely projecting more! And to my ear, they sound better than what the D'Addario's did!

Funny enough, they also feel as light as what the 11's did! Maybe its the strings, maybe its my fingers getting better!
But they were nice and soft from the get go!
Im really impressed with the strings!

congrats ? old, rusty strings feel heavier than nice, new ones (at least to me). i find changing strings to be quite therapeutic...

Well, they werent rusty... But they were about 5months old... And i did buy the martin strings specially... So i thought why not!!

It was easier than i thought... but still a little nerve wrecking for the first time!

I bet it was nerve-wracking. It's easy to forget what a big deal this is for the first time. You move on and you forget about it. But initially it's really intimidating. I still don't wind so well and love the locking tuners on two of my guitars. That's probably because I don't change strings nearly often enough ?

Same here...LOL... I hate it to be honest, and I've done it so many times...for me it's not therapeutic. If I ever were to play many gigs again I will hire a "string changer" ?

Not surprising. Old strings don't sound good.

If you've gone from 11s to 12s then you might want to get the truss rod looked at (if Costafonix didn't do that already).

Yep, the neck looked fine, no adjustment was necessary.
Once again got the chance to play the Tanglewood and it sounded awesome, Norman got a real bargain there ?

Its still going for the same price at mercury music the last time i checked hey!
So i needn't be the only one getting that bargain ? lol!

But yeah, i'll keep the neck in mind as well, and if it doesnt look lekker, off to Costa she will go!

Seems the Tanglewood will need a name soon too... Its also becoming a her now as i become more attached to her! :-[

Still only R1150 guys! and it really does come setup almost perfectly, only needing to be tuned up!
Or at least, that was my experience!
