Whoa, I have a few left......how much are they paying for teeth? I'm in!!! Need an Avalon. ? ?
Hey bud, you know I was reading this thread, with a little interest. I had long hair down my ass for years and years. Actually I wonder if the ability to never cut my hair again is part and parcel of why I left SA to begin with. That Air Force cut really sucked!
I can really relate to this though......when you have had long hair for a while.....to cut or not to cut. ?
Two things came to mind though, while reading your dilemma......
I was going to suggest you just go f**k it and cut it! Liberate yourself from the bonds of having to care for it, having to use ponytails anytime you do anything other than play a gig, brushing it, all the gallons of shampoo and conditioner and Aquanet if you are going for the high hair look....LOL!!! Hair caught in the shower drain all the time, sticking to your face when you sweat on stage, getting knotty all the time........sucks. Getting ready is such a breeze with short hair, it makes a person look younger and besides.......really long hair has been out for a while.
So other than suggesting you cut it....rather than try sell it, I was going to try and convince you to donate it for wigs for cancer patients.
Then I saw someone else said it first. So then I was going to join forces and back that up......but then......I saw you had not only already done it, but you had got a buddy to also do it. Way to go Chad.
This has blown me away. Going by the little I know about the universe, I can almost assure you that you are going to get back way more over the course of your life, by way of that one extremely unselfish action, than you would have got if someone paid you for the hair. I know how hard it is to make the decision to cut one's hair when it has grown that long.....when it has become a huge part of who you are, your stage image, persona etc.
However, I also imagine your heart did not need much convincing as to which was the right thing to do.....to get a few $'s that you would blow on something that later you would tire of.........or give the hair to make a sick person happy, maybe a little kid with a very uncertain future.....or a woman who could go into the world right after chemo, not feeling awful about her appearance... and maybe even get back into the workforce sooner, which is good for all of us.
Mostly though....to feel better about themselves in general, which is a
HUGE part of healing.
Someone dealing with a TON of BS is going to feel so good about things by way of that one action on your part.
Classy move mate.
