You can play Antoine Dufour songs and you call yourself average? :-\ I guess I'm below average ☹
Well yeah but I can only play the easy ones...
Like this one ?
I've also recently started learning this one...
I'm finding using a thumb pick and keeping the rhythm a little tricky, I've gotten the first part down though...
Being able to play something like that isn't hard though, it just takes time and working up to it slowly. I consider myself pretty average, the players who I aspire towards have set the bar pretty high and I for one am up to the challenge of getting there, but I'm not there yet and I won't be happy till I am ? Then you've gotta take into account that once your technique is up there your actual musicianship and song writing may not be, these are places where I still feel I can make major improvement. I don't think it's fair to compare yourself to another player, we all have different goals and plans etc. I think to myself I'm an average player and hopefully in time I'll be better ? Someone else who attains a certain level may be completely happy there, after all some of the best songs in the world weren't written by the most technical players...
I suppose in the end I just stick to my motto, Forever evolving - never content, cause the moment you think you have it - you've lost it.

it's easier than you think to get a repetoire if you already have the skills.
How long should a repertoire be, what kind of duration should I look at filling? Cause it takes ages for me to learn something like an Antoine Dufour song...Realistically this may push the likelyhood of this sorta thing taking off pretty far back.
