Free Workshop: Live Looping with Dave Ferguson, Ard Matthews and Albert Frost

Hi All,

We've arranged a Boss Products workshop focusing on music looping. Here's the gen:

Speak to TOMS/MIDI - they are the Boss distributors in Gauteng.

Not sure if we can get the same three guys together in Durban and Jo'beg, but we are planning on having something similar around the country...watch this .

By the way, show of hands: who here would consider taking part in a South African Loop Championships competition like this one?

Damn, almost got excited about this workshop, then realised Tuesday nights are working-late nights. shucks. :'(

I was there. didn't see any of the GFSA regulars.

overall it was very good and entertaining.

Dave Fergusson really brought in some cool ideas with the harmonica running through guitar pedals, octave, overdrive, delay, chorus and into the loop station and also singing inbetween recording some backing vocals, and making up a complete song just from scratch.

Albert frost as usaull was good. plugged in his acoustic guitar with some delay and stuff and showed how to make some backing tracks, and improvised with his fender strat over the backtrack.

Art Matthews, dude thats guy has got some really smooth rhythmns going with his acoustic and running his vocals through one of those tc-electronic units to create some harmonies.

at the end end of the night all 3 of them did some improv and made up a song. using the loop pedals to create backtracks as they go on.

I too was there. Loved the harmonica on loop - given me some ideas. Frost was great as usual. Felt that the group event could have been a little better but I am not complaining. Venue was a bit small with limited seating though.

I want more stuff like this.
