The way I started playing guitar was just playing to my favourite band's tracks, and if you're wanting to play metal.. the tunings bands use will vary from standard, to drop D, to drop C and maybe even further. I reckon you will be frustrated no end not being able to easily change tunings, especially since the bands you mention all use different tunings. Unless you're desperate to pull off some Dragonforce divebombs etc, just get a fixed bridge. It'll be cheaper and will save you a lot of hassle. For me, the cons of having a trem far outweigh the pros.
