I'm a big butler fan, really enjoy his stuff!! He's got some cool tutorial video's online too, which is great! ?

yes i'm also a fan.... he has a live cd he recorded a few yrs ago that has been played to death by me ....... he also has a great percussive style and does a lot of solo work too...but his trio is worth any amount of money to see......

? when i 1st read the title of this post i was getting excited that maybe he was touring SA ('a must see" ) well one day i hope or we'll have to go to australia and catch a show.....

he also does lots of film sountracks and has music in that movie "australia" that had nicole kidman and hugh jackman in it ......

Anyone know what he is using for that bass drum sound with his foot? When the camera pans down it looks like a block of wood! ? haha.. I wana get one of those, it adds to the sound SO much!

Massive fan. That track (Ocean, I think) is one of the most energetic, emotional instrumentals i've heard. It was listening to him that got me back into acoustic and encouraged me to buy my lovely Takamine.

yeah i been using a stomp box in my solo act for ages it works big time ? ..( i refuse to use drum machines/back tracks) ...... ...... get a box and mic it up and stomp away .they make em and sell em just check online .......kaki king uses one too.....

I thought I had remembered hearing one in your music too Keira. Did you make your own Keria? Or did you buy one?

yeah like i said get a box the right size and mic it up and stomp away .that easy ..for big gigs i also use a cajun i obviously use as a guitar chair and sit on and then use a bass drum pedal reversed so you play with your heel .and thats as loud as a bass drum ....unmic'd so in small venues i use stomp box cos the cajun is too loud ...... however don't try it 1st time at a gig hehehhe cos it actually takes some co ordination to play a solid bass drum groove....... and skips andd ouble beats are a challenge when you playing intriucate parts on your guitar ........ i found it's something one either uses all the time or not at all.. cos it can sound very bad if played off time when you concentrating on guitar parts.but yeah go for it ....... as you know i openly promote artists to use live drummers or do their own percussion and NOT use drum machines and backtracks..... keep it live guitarboy , let me know how it goes.......
