Durban Get together

Ok I reckon it's high time for a big time get together.

I have spoken with someone at Unit 11 for a Saturday morning? Say 10am-1pm?

Unless there are better suggestions for times and days etc.

They said they will have a bar and charge R1,000 for the venue. I didn't try negotiating and said I'd find the general consensus.

So whenshouldwe whenwhouldwe?

I was thinking the 29th April? Any more than 10 and we're all pitching in less than R100 for the privelege.

29th is a Friday, but I'll be on leave so I am game. Will just have to confirm on cost, because if only a couple of guys turn up, it could be a bit expensive.

Would the purpose of this be a get together for fun and to meet each other? or a jam, all bring our amps and gear and jam together?

I think, depending on the goal, the venue could change.

I'm coming down on the 29th, so hopefully it'll be on the 30th. And I think Stratisfear will be in Dubs too.

Im keen but also thinking maybe a cheaper venue...If theres only a few of us it wouldn't be sooo bad to have it at someones house, but you can't volunteer anyone either...

I'd be happy to host, but my apartment is tiny and i'm far up north.. We could always use my church (an old cinema ?). But again, that is far up north, but would be free. ?

I'm sorry I can't offer any real advice or a venue, but I'm happy to fit in with whatever you guys decide, and am happy to drive anywhere in the greater Durban area.

Also the church idea doesn't sound bad albeit far...What do you other guys think?

I'm happy with any venue where we could make some noise. I'll bring the AFD and both guitars. It's quite interesting to compare a Gibson USA model and a Historic back to back and see just how different they actually are from each other.

Dying to hear what the AFD sounds like cranked. So far I've had it set on 15 watts with volume up at 7 and it shakes the walls. I wonder what it sounds like at 100w? ?
