Well, I've finally joined the forum after browsing for a while ?.

I am getting back into playing again after a while. Stopped playing Acoustic about 3 years ago and Electric about 8 years ago (don't ask!!!) so will have lots of questions that may or may not irritate, or may even provide a laugh or two for the guitar "gods" out there ?. So, I now consider myself a complete novice and am starting all over again after going down that whole gearhead thing (I am a sucker for a well crafted instrument and decent tone) and have owned more gear than I would like to admit, none of which I could really do justice to but hey, it's about the enjoyment of music isn't it.

I will be purchasing one (well,I'll try !! ?) acoustic guitar and one electric guitar soon and probably a multi effects unit before buying an amp.

My most recent guitars I owned were:

Taylor K14c - with Baggs pick-up (the last guitar I owned but I know it went to a loving home in Cape Town)
Fender USA Standard Strat - sold for a ridiculous price ☹
Takamine Natural series Acoustic/electric - given to my son (what a joy seeing him get into playing) I still consider Takamine VERY underrated but great value!!

Anyway, that's it for now - time to start posting those irritating questions ;D

Oh yeah, forgot to say that I was also a drummer - for those days that I didn't feel like thinking !!! :-[ (I can say that as this is a guitar forum right? ?)

Thx guys, looking really forward to getting back into it. Sometimes it's worthwhile taking a break. Getting as excited as when I bought my first old beat up '79 strat - unfortunately couldn't live with the small neck width but it was so scarred and it had an awesome tone.
