4 Cable method

I got a tube head today, with an effects loop. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can use the "4 cable method" to hook up my nova system to the head.

I know I can put the pedal through the effects loop, bypassing the drive section of the nova, but is there a way of setting it up so the drive section goes before the amp?

You need a 'out' and a 'send' on the effects machine and a 'send' and 'return' on the amp to do what you have in mind. Why don't you forget about the drive of the Nova and ~~use your head~~, eh, use the drive of your amp I mean? ?

No - that's the one (big IMO) drawback of the Nova System. You can put it in the loop of the amp and lose the compression and drive or you can put it up front of the amp and have delays and reverbs going through the preamp section.

Of course you can do the former and use a separate comp and drive pedal up front of the amp.

Sigh, I was afraid you'd say that. The amps drive is awesome, I love it, but would've been nice to use the overdrive on my Novato drive it even harder. The amps drive channel hasn't got THAT much gain, so will have to get an overdrive or something similar in front of it.

I also have my looper which doesn't work with the nova in the effects loop. So, a bit of a mission, but, the tone of this amp makes it all worth the hassels! ?
