Ive noticed these are quite a bit cheaper to buy then all the other epiphones out there. Is it just because they are so ugly or something? I was thinking I...

Hammeron, I know you play metal so a normal, say red, explorer would look a bit out of place hanging over your shoulder.

I just really dont like the idea of an all black guitar.

Alan is absolutely right of course.
I wouldn't use the word 'ugly' to describe any guitar, all guitars are beautiful.
I just prefer pointy ones, they suit me and my style better.
I like the Goth Explorer because it is smaller than the standard explorers and looks more in balance with my small stature. One day I hope to own a Gibson LP and an American Fender Strat.
I mean, imagine Slash without his LP and Blackmore without his Strat...no way. :?

well to play devils advocate here....... surely if you bought your les paul and loved the tone /feel ect ..and prob thought it was better sounding than anything else in that price range.cos buying a les paul is not cheap of course i assume we talking Gibson les paul not a copy , so i assume lots of careful thought went into it ....... so if it sounds "kller" to you and you strip it and find it looks like this goth model singe posted why would it matter ??? surely if they even made it outa balsa wood and painted it would it matter if you loved the tone to start with , it's the same guitar ...... ?

? i was gonna post that you were still young ( and thats a good thing) and wait till you 30 and still playing music and then you will want a les paul and a strat and you beat me to it ...... btw it's fabulous you so young and getting your music career started ..... absolutely awesome......

Thats true Keira. But it would really suck to know that your guitar that you thought was so great isnt as good as you though.

But seriously, the goth explorers are smaller. Thats really bad news. I wanted to get one.

Keira's right. It's as good as it sounds and plays. After all, that's why these Goth LPs are cheaper, as per the OP. If it sounds good an plays well, you've got what you wanted. And you paid less because they used a lower-cost production method.
