Why are Epiphone Goths cheaper?

Ive noticed these are quite a bit cheaper to buy then all the other epiphones out there. Is it just because they are so ugly or something?

I was thinking I would get a goth explorer and change the scratch plate and a few other things to get it to look like a normal guitar. Maybe paint it.....

They're more cheaply made. As are the Gibson-branded equivalents. Saw a pic of one of the Gibsons stripped on mylespaul and it had an approx. eight-piece body.

I have a 1996 Korean built Epi Goth Explorer and there is NOTHING wrong with it. It 's a great guitar. Now if you think they are ugly, well that's your opinion.

Maybe not in your hands, but in mine we make for a real ugly couple ?

? ? ? It has a lot to do with image. I am a small 16 year old female who plays hard rock/ heavy metal and it fits visually and musically, I would not be seen DEAD with an LP or STRAT shape, not dead!

I have played a Strat on stage and had an SG on loan for a coupla months, and in my opinion the Epi felt better and still does.

Funny I would not ever play a ESP, Ibanez, or Epiphone Goth..... Epiphone sheraton, casino... maybe ?

Strats are not for everyone, LP's those are pretty metal guitars, or hard rock.
If I was to play hard rock I would play an SG, or Firebird, or Maton, or a Gibson Explorer.
But for me the whole all black guitar, with pointy edges just looks silly...

Hammeron, I know you play metal so a normal, say red, explorer would look a bit out of place hanging over your shoulder.

I just really dont like the idea of an all black guitar.
