I dreamt last night that I was talking to a poodle who was very happy to find a new home since the shrieking hawk that hovered over her current residence was causing her too much stress.
So I picked her up and carried her to her new home. :-[
What is up with that?

You need to plant a nipple tree. It doesnt scare the hawks away, but it does give their shrieks a nice tone.

Dreamed the other night that there was this forest path where the raccoons were being exterminated by hippos. Seems the hippos had giant two meter sticky tongues, and the raccoons would think themselves at a safe distance only to be caught by the hippo tongue and nommed.
I felt quite bad for the little guys. But hey. Hippos gotta live too, right? And according to my dream, their staple diet is raccoons.

Hey Conrad, did you go watch "Rango?" ? The wife and kids did, and they hated the evil hawk!! ?

Well, oddly enough this morning I dreamt Steve Hofmeyr was giving me a list of people I should invite to his braai, with instructions as to family connections and things. It was horrifying.
Oh yes, and I was going to play for our nursery school concert, but for some reason the mic stand disassembled itself, so while everyone was sitting there, I had to find the right size bolts amongst lots of little bits and pieces, to go in the right places (this was one mean, heavy duty mic stand). It took me about an hour and I still got nowhere. The crowd started heckling me.
Then I went to the Imax and sat in about just the wrong place to see anything, but apparently it was about frogs.

If I had to put on my Freud hat (something I'm semi-qualified to do) I'd say your subconscious is telling you to grow that curly mullet you've always fancied and start learning Poison tunes. As for the hawk.....maybe you should buy a PRS modern eagle.
On a related note; I very often have dreams were I play this kickass riff but as soon as I wake up I can't seem to remember it.

I'm busy learning about writing fiction at the moment and reading Conrad's dream made me think of something ... In fiction your characters have to have motives. This compels the reader to read - something like that. There has to be a 'why' apart from all the other questions. Now in the poodle hawk dream there's no 'why'. I would say if I wrote that dream, story, that maybe the poodle ate the hawk's eggs, and she is pretending to be all innocent. She needs a home now so she is sucking up to the human - Conrad. And the poor hawk - being more wild, and unable to speak 'human' gets the short end and is definitely going to eat the poodle. And there you have a story. But dreams don't have story-lines and that's why I like them! Gives you a break ...
And I think the hippo raccoon story is just plain hilarious. I love it when a dream is funny! ?
I have a recurring angst dream which always involves me driving. I'm either on the roof of car, driving, driving while I'm sleeping,
driving from the back of the car, driving a kid's swing, all kinds of wierd stuff!

the avid golfers on the forum will appreciate this one. I quite regularly dream I'm standing on the tee but I can't get the ball to stay on the tee/peg (to avoid confusion) because the entire tee is severely sloped.
If you want to read an amazing story with very richly textured characters, read CS Friedman's Coldfire trilogy. I was amazed at the depth of the characters in those books.

Since we're on the topic, here's a video of a hummingbird spy-drone developed by the Pentagon. A tiny, remote controlled hummingbird with a camera that actually flies just like a real hummingbird:

That's a bit harsh, wouldn't you say?. It's not like I was trying to derail the thread on purpose. Point taken though. I'll rather pm people from now on.

What is? I don't know the books, but presume there is a reference to nano spy drones. Or what am I missing?
Isis
I think he was trying to be sarcastic because my post was not all that thread related. Unless I'm missing something and he's confusing the books with something else?

Hahahaa...... you guys are spinning my head, or am I missing something? ???

Well, I dreamt I was a poodle. And I got lost and was on the outers. Then one day a young Susan George found me and she said ag shame and picked me up and took me home and put me in a warm bath with foam and washed me. And then Katherine Bell walked in and she said ag shame and she washed me as well. Oh heck I've just seen it says weird dreams.
