Hey guys, I have been playing guitar for a while now, and I am currently not involved in a band, nad have a lot of free jamming time, but I have stagnated a bit. So I am looking for a good dvd/cd/book that has instruction on riffing, and lead guitar etc.
I want to give my skills a bit of a kick in the pants.
Is there anything out there anyone can suggest.

There is an instructional DVD by Mark Tremonti and two books by Guthrie Govan (just do a search on Amazon)
Those I can really recommend. If you go trough them you won't be intermediate for very long...

Thanks Pieter, I am a huge Tremonti fan, so I have been eyeing out his Story and sound dvd for a bit.
Will definitely also look at the Guthrie Govan books.
Really appreciate your help.

+1 on those Guthrie books, I own both and they are quality! Guthrie is awesome.
I'm not sure how geared those are towards beginners though?
I'd check out some youtube clips and lessons, usually once you get into it, you'll get a feel for what you're after and then you'll find books you wana get. Maybe start learning some Pentatonic scales from youtube and learn some lead licks off of there? Another idea is to go out and get the latest "Guitar Techniques" magazine (R130 I think at CNA). That has loads of cool stuff to play through! ?
