Don't focus too much on the direct negative impact that industries such as the guitar-and furniture makers have on rosewood (BTW their ebony is also under pressure). These also have an indirect effect on the eco-chain associated with these trees or forests...birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, all of which are at risk.
Thus it's so important to properly manage and replenish these trees/ forests...we have the same problems right here....Yellowwood, Stinkwood....as a result of furniture making in the 18th and 19th centuries.... The Clan William Cedar is no 4 on the world's endagered list of tree species...also used in furniture making and for telephone and fence poles.....it's much more at risk than Mad-RW
