So, who of you have heard the new album? I like it. I'm becoming a big fan of their new stuff
Something interesting: for creative reasons the singer decided not to sing with the band, as in, he recorded his vocals at another location, and sent them his take. He did this so that the band could learn to be more creative without him. Apparently it caused a lot of stir. But it still worked out well in the end. Well I thought so atleast.

I also think its rad.
Thats not entirely true about the recording.. They initially started with Julian Casablancas and the rest of the band recording by correspondence, but they got together to do the final takes.
They've tried some new things, and the album is definitely disjointed, but its still the Strokes. I love it.
Have you heard any Julian (singer) and Albert (guitarist) solo work? Some of it is darn cool.

In the latest Uncut one of the band members seemed pretty peeeved about the way they recorded... Just so happens Casablancas brings the magic any which way...
