BlackStar HT-5H

I had a BlackStar HT-5.
Sounded great with my M200 with tonerider upgrades ... but wasn't the Strat / Fender sound.
Swapped it for a Fender amp which sounds magic with my strat(s).

Tried to (unsuccessfully) sell my M200.

Have now had an offer of an HT-5H (i.e. head only) for R 1,500.

Does this sound like a good deal?
Would it work well if I played it through the speaker of my Fender Super Champ XD?

Can't tell you how cool that thing sounds through a 212.

What the BlackStar does ... it does really well.

Actually, it does the lightly driven thing really nicely too. Every single time I play these I am impressed.

If it wasn't for you before, why go that way again? I'd seriously recommend you first experience some other amps, but if you do find yourself needing a cab, talk to me.

I've got a buddy with a lovely Patrick Eggle guitar and a POS valvestate to play the beast through. We were just talking today and I was saying he should look for a blackstar 5watt to play it through and he was very keen on the idea. Any chance I could somehow help you both become happy men?

Oh! I was confused too. Well it's entirely up to you. I mailed my mate this morning and he is interested in the amp. But now that I finally have got it through my thick skull then it's obviously your call to do with the offer as you wish. However, if you don't want it, please consider my mate with his beautiful guitar that's all dressed up with nowhere to go ?

I assumed from our e-mail conversation that we had a deal, and were busy negotiating how to close the deal; since he wasn't in Cape Town.
When I, in passing, asked him when he was coming to Cape Town, he told me he'd sold it already ☹

I e-mailed him to say "I thought we had a deal!"
He never responded.

Assumptions are dangerous things and I've therefore learned something - get the actual words in an e-mail of "we have a deal"

I am supposed to be saving my money to buy a USA Custom Guitars neck for my strat.
