What would a fair price be for a 2001 USA built Strat in good condition?

I owuld say R8000, you could push for R9000 but no telling if someone will take it.....

I would say R8000 is a fair price to go with.....

Actually I am in the market to buy one ...he is asking just under R11000

I would say 11k is a bit high, I guess if you really want it 9k would be fine, for a deluxe strat not over 12k......

Guys often try sell them off at nore expensive, but there just is not the market to support that price....

Not all guitars are built the same ... even when they are identical in all aspects. Sometimes those specific pieces of wood just work better together. You don't mention if you were able to play it and how you feel about it. I've overpaid in the past to have THAT specific guitar because I knew it was special and the instrument spoke to me on a subliminal level. Perhaps in this case that will be the same for you. If not, then keep looking because as others have said, it's a touch high (though I feel anything under 9.5k is a good deal for a 2001 USA std strat).
