MIKA-the-better-one
I thought maybe I would share some music with who ever is intrested..... I find they are not to many people aware of alot of these bands, people tend to stick to the big MTV rock bands..... and thats a shame because there is so much better music out there.... So here are a few, not really metal so dont expect that, just a few smaller bands pushing hard to make good music.......
1) Crocodiles, kind of... DOORS, BLUR, SONIC YOUTH, OASIS........
2) Moros Eros, kind of.... The Mars Volta, meets punk, meets pop..... They are broken up now but were a great band and very nice guys...
3) YUCK, kind of..... Sonic Youth, Pavement, Nirvana, Beck, The kooks...... They are British, and doing very well at the moment...
4) Cage the Elephant, kind of..... Rolling Stones, Pixies, Iggy Pop, Beck, Wilco...... I was not going to include them because they have gotten rather big up late, but I am going to see them on the 24th may, and they use lovely gear, and are cool so here they are...
5) Cold War Kids..... Kind of...... Blues/ rock, in a good way....... Again a little more well known, but worth mentioning.....
6) St Vincent, kind of.... Artsy, a bit weird, but she can play, I have spoken of her before and I am sorry to bring her up again... she uses lots of octave and pitch shifting stuff
7) Minus the Bear, kind of.... Pink FLoyd, Fugazi, overall nice band, lots of looping skills, one of the better guitarists in the world, usedto play in Botch.. one of my fave albums is Planet of Ice
8) Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, kind of.... The Mars Volta, Prodigy, yes this is very similar line up to the mars volta, but its a whole different sound, really cool music, with real groove
9) Sleigh Bells, kind of... LO FI, pop, Britney Spears, meets loud guitars, REALLY COOL, I enjoy them to no end, they have only been together for a year, and sound great, and simple... one of my top albums of 2010
10) Rolo Tomassi. kind of.... Death Metal???? and pretty singing , math rock guitars, British, intresting.... Not my usual listen but good none the less
