Poll: Do I share "Dream Acoustic Guitar Build#2" or have you had enough?

As mentioned before, I have commisioned a few more acoustic builds over the next 3 years. While the Cornerstone Zion Build thread seems to have gone down well, I am conscious that too much of a good thing is not always desired.

The reason I started the Zion build thread thread was to share my experience. The great discussions and comments certainly provided much food for thought and I really appreciate the fact that the thread was never "hijacked" throughout it's duration - thank you all.

The big questions as the Bashkin build looms in a few months time is ....should I start another Dream Acoustic build thread?

Yes, it's an OM! It's called the Placencia but is his OM model.

I am also considering the Fan-Fret (Michael calls it a Multi Scale) option but have not made up my mind yet.

(The build starts in August)

I'd be keen to see such a thread.

Michael Bashkin has some unusual features on his guitars, so it would be cool and very interesting if he would answer some questions. I'd like to know more about the double sides and the braced backs for example.

@Bob,

I will certainly ask him to join the forum and add comments as I did with Peter as well. On the prior thread I would sometimes e-mail Peter with a question and then post the answer due to his work schedule.

You must do the fanned fretting, there is no option here >☹ Don't even think about it...

Seriously though I've only ever heard people speak of the pros of fanned frets, the only con is something that only really applies to metal guitarists and even then can be overcome.

As for the fanned/multi-scale thing, it's now cool to call them fanned frets etc cause Novaks patent is no longer valid and all it really effected was what you could call it. Not really important to this thread but I just thought I'd mention that.

Well... what if you like the feel of a particular constant scale length? Like me - don't give me anything less than a 25.5" because I can't stand the feel. I get they are essential with seven and eight-string electrics to keep the bass tight, but not as crucial on a six-string.
