Very tight, very fast...but ,IMO, a lot of their songs start to sound the same.

Also just my opinion. I find them technically brilliant but too monotonous on composition (for my taste).

no denying that they are brilliant,they really are,but the speed gets old very quickly for me...the white dude guitarist is a machine,just that asian dude is so amazing it makes him look shit ?

Dragonforce is a prime example of speed not being the be all and end all of music. Yes they are brilliant and Herman Li and Sam Totman are one of the best one-two punches in music today but i just dont feel they take their music seriously.
If you look at a band like Rhapsody, which is similar to Dragon Force, Luca Turilli takes the composition of every note into consideration; instead of just sweeping all over the place.
Anyways that is just my two cents worth....

Overrated imo and personally i dont dig all the video game sounds like super mario bros on speed.... ;D

i dig some of the sounds they can produce,but it gets a bit much after a while...but i see where dean gets the hole "they speed their stuff up" from,i mean he plays that sweep and stuffs up alot then with the tapping it's not exactly clean and surely if they CAN do it,why not just retake it again?

They're extremely fast, extremely tight, and their lyrics are extremely cheesy ?...
and they may or may not be extremely fake.
So far as for what I've heard, their live performances are real crap, and are proof they can't play at the speeds they record.
I can't really prove that, since I've never seen them play live, but Youtube seems to agree with me. Even if I'm completely wrong (And look, I hope I am, these guys are damn fast ?)
their music is monotonous and I'm struggling to define their new album (Ultra Beatdown) as different from the last...

ye, not 2 long ago i watched a "betcha cant play this" video on youtube of herman li playing a sweep and he couldnt even play it properly. Started to giggle then blamed it on the weather hahaha ?

All our opinions seem to be very alike. I love dragonforce but i can only listen to them for a very short time. The songs start to sound the same, and the leads become so ridiculously fast that it feels my head wants to expload.
Stop showing us how fast and technically brilliant you are and start writing some good tunes >☹

its a bit of a "what if" question.
like what if they really cud play their stuff live and accurately? wud that really make a difference 2 everyone. like wud it define a new standard of perfection for speed junkies? i know i dont hav 6hrs a day 2 practise so their music is more for listening enjoyment to me, and its more 4 a laugh than anything else . my friends who dont listen 2 metal only know them as "that band from guitar hero"
