Wasn't feeling great, so I took last night off work. As to all the substance abuse that happened in my absence, I'm surrounding it with an SEP* field.

I used Diamondguard a while back and it worked like a charm
Oh dear someone else in need of fireproof underwear. Mind you Wessel, Judging from the Verimark ad that I saw on TV you could just rub some of that Diamondguard on your butt before Alan gets here.
HAHAHAHA!

Well hey I realise I'm probably going to get a big rant thrown at me for this...
But a while back I downloaded a video on guitar cleaning from Suhr Guitars website, now as you may or may not know John Suhr was Fender's head craftsmen for some time before going off to create his own brand, so the man knows his shit!
In this video they detail their recommended ways of cleaning guitars and they speak about what not to use etc...So they say for the actual finish of the guitar they recommend Meguirs Car polish (now I'm not too sure but something tells me that when they recommend this stuff specifically it means use only this stuff specifically) and for cleaning the back of your neck they recommend Pledge (not mister min), also they give specific instructions not to apply directly to your guitar.

I don't rant ...much. ?
Of course I know John Suhr - he's right up there with Scott Lentz and D'Pergo. He's also the "Suhr" from the "Pensa-Suhr" guitars that Knopfler sometimes plays. Also invented the niftily titled BPSSC noise reduction system for single coils, etc., etc., etc..
From what you're saying, the Suhr guitars must use acrylic lacquers on the bodies (same as most of the Fender guitars traditionally did). They are actually automotive paints, so a high quality automotive polish like McGuire's makes sense. McGuire's makes a whole range of high quality polishes, burnishing compounds, waxes and polishing compounds
I'm also guessing he uses polyurethane for his necks (durable and non-sticky), which is why they use a modern polish like Pledge - although I'm still not happy about the long term effects when it comes to repairs down the line. Thy don't spray it on directly (I'm presuming they spray it on to the cloth) to stop the chance of it getting anywhere but where it's applied and so it doesn't pool and run under pickguards and into screw holes. I dunno - I'd still stick with saying don't use it at all - tell an end user that it's OK to use in a specific way and the chances are good they'll end up spraying tons on and slathering it around.
