So, this one is a reworking of the "sexy song" competition entry (I won ? ) here at GFSA. I actually had it mostly finished since January, without knowing it. So glad it's done. Yes, I will have to work on the recording still, but I think I'm getting better at relaxing in front of the mic. My hands were sweating a bit so my movements are a bit more noticeable, oh well. Enjoy!

Great stuff Viccy, brilliant playing and lovely tone, That condenser mic you bought is top class.
I am trying to work out the "sexy" part, although very melancholic, there seems to be that tension that makes it "sexy", almost in a vampire kind of a way. The white skin and golden eyes, kind of mysterious, supernatural....
Just me rambling on....

You're right Squonk, I reworked the sexy right out of it. It was way cheesy when I entered it into the competition.
I told my cousin about the lucky mic I bought (He's a bit of a follower of tech stuff) and he did a bit of research on it. Apparently it's a brand that, even though it's cheap, was designed to stand on it's own, and not just be a rip off of another brand. If that makes sense. I was also chatting to him and said I instinctively feel recording at night is better, but it probably is just me. Turns out sound travels better when it's cooler, so there you go.
Thanks for the kind words!

Lovely Viccy. :applause:

I'm loving it! More romantic than sexy feel and it works that way. Love what you do with the slight timing pauses - really ups the tension, as do some of your note choices. One or two slight fumbles here and there, but overall the performance is great with nice dynamics, timing and emotiveness.
The recording is great too. A little dark and dry for my tastes, but nothing untoward. I actually had some fun playing with it to reduce noise, EQing it more to my personal tastes - brighten the overall air and bring out the attack a little as well as adding a little reverb to give it some ambience and life (without swamping it). Forgive me - I don't often get a chance to fiddle with material of this nature. :-[

Thanks Pete and Alan!
Glad you had fun fiddling with the recording. I'm still learning the art of performing it over and over without losing the spontaneity, let alone altering what I've recorded.

Excellent stuff!
Well done, I really enjoyed it!

Allright, that is good stuff. I also like the timing pauses, feels almost like it's falling off the cliff..but no, perfect recovery, phew! Very nice progression, good complexity. Love the ending. It just...ends. Great work.

I am placing my order NOW for that CD when it comes out. But you'll probly be a big shot in Hollywood writing movie soundtracks ... ?.
Bravo!

Oh thanks so much! I'm glad you guys enjoyed it!
I'm glad you guys have your own imagery to go with it! To be honest I just pictured someone swimming in an idyllic shimmery afternoon sea. No black and white arguments at the door, although that one gave me a tickle! ?
Here is the SUPER cheesy original version if you want to hear it.
