If i wanna record a guitar/song video, does it's more common to sync the video and audio after the recording? or do i need to connect the sound card directly to the camera for the video and audio to be recorded together?

Are you recording the performance live?

If that's the case and it's just guitar and voice, I would forgo the sound card altogether and use a small mixer to get a balance of voice and guitar, and then feed the output into the camera. That seems like the simplest solution to me.

But doesn't the camera reduces the quality of the audio? Can't i get better quality on the computer?

Well, define quality.

Ok, let's discuss some things.

If you record the performance to the computer you will most likely get a better quality recording because it will be uncompressed, 24 bit PCM wav audio. The only problem is, if you send that back real-time out to the camera, it will be converted to what ever format the recorder uses, which will mostly likely utilize some sort of compression codec, depending on what make and model you have. Doing this will almost certainly introduce latency problems, on top of the fact it's not much of a muchness when you consider the audio is being recorded to digital, converted back to analog, and converted back to lossy, compressed digital audio. That is why I suggested that if it was just a guitar/vocal recording (2 channels) you could just record through a small mixer straight to the camera. Job done.

What kind of camera are you using?

If it was me, I would record the performance on my computer and then spot sync it up later to the video in a video editor. An easy way to find a sync point is to loudly click two drum sticks together in the room after you have pressed record on both the camera and the computer. You can then easily spot where to align the tracks recorded on the computer to the audio picked up by the camera.

For me the most import question that Mo Facta asked was, "What kind of camera are you using". In my experience most domestic cameras don't have a line in capability, which negates the mixer into camera idea. If it's a broadcast or prosumer camera then you're okay.
