That was good. The one about plowing around a stump is dodgy - you might end up with no field and a load of stumps.
And you plough the same spot twice... now that aint economic is it??
So, here's what we used to do with stumps:
Attach ripper to tractor, rip around stump, attach 30/50ton link chain to stump (insert: if no applicable attaching point is present, start digging for some roots you poor sob), attach other end of chain to tractor (note: avoid some parts for following steps may cause damage), have about 10 meters slack, rev tractor's engine, watch everybody who may have been present hide in a ditch, drop clutch, come to sudden slight halt, detach chain from stump and tractor, remove stump from field, go to physiotherapist for neck injury.
See. not that diffcult and you gain about a square foot a planting space and
