The Les Pauls of GFSA (rule modification)

We can't let the Strat maniacs have all the fun. Let's see all the Les Pauls. All the ones you've posted before, and the ones you haven't. We're talking all of the single cutaway, mahogany backed guitars with a Gibson Les Paul scale-length. We want to see the Epiphones, the Tokais, the Tanglewoods, the Corts, the Gibsons, the Ibanez. And then say just a little bit about 'em. rule mod: Only post pictures of your specific guitar. No product shots. Even if it's a grim and grainy cell-phone pic, at least we know it's the very same guitar you plunk away on (you need not delete existing product shots, just make sure to post a pic of the actual guitar sometime ? ) Here are mine which you've all seen before: 2009 Tokai LS150 Had this one since the last year. Absolute beauty. My main gigging guitar. Pure quality. Super-comfortable chunky neck. 1983 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe One of the infamous Norlin-era Gibsons. Heavy as about four of Reinhard's LP, and about 12 of Nick's ? but I love it anyway. Did a lot of modding before I was happy with it (mini-hums to P90s, roto-grip tuners, Bigsby B7, bell knobs, etc.). Strung with .11s now. Bit of a slim neck. Crazy low "fretless-wonder" type frets. Just needs a grounding issue sorted out before it's ready to gig. Had this since '95 and it's the possession I run back into the burning house for. Over to you guys.

While recording in Memphis, Tenn., Beck paid a visit to a popular music store called Strings and Things to check out the stock. The guitar that caught his attention was a ’54 Gibson Les Paul that a customer had dropped in for some very specific modifications. One request was that its original Goldtop finish be stripped off in favor of a deep chocolate-brown finish, a color that turned out to exhibit some oxblood tints in certain light. Other modifications included the installation of full-size humbucking pickups in place of the P-90s, altering the full and rounded early ’50s neck shape to a slightly thinner profile and changing the original tuners for modern replacements. Legend has it that the customer didn’t like the results … but Jeff Beck did. He purchased the modified Les Paul from the store, and ended up playing it extensively on tour and in the studio. He even gave it pride of place on the cover shot of his milestone 1975 album, Blow By Blow. A tone legend was born.

I think we are more used to Dr Martens OxBlood rather than Gibson's Oxe Blood ?

Norman, in most light it does have a black appearance, but in good daylight you can clearly see a dark burgundy colour.

it is officially described as the colour of oxblood seen in moonlight

Nice to see a Heritage on this thread. Love the Jeff Beck LP. Generally some lovely LPs coming up. So how come every stage is packed with Stratocasters? ?

So guys can make use of all their Compressor pedals, distortion pedals, and Boosters that they've collected. ?
A LP has all those pedals built in. 8)

They don't even lift. Les Paul's are heavier. 'Tis a mans guitar.
The same way the strat is ergonomic and sculpted while the far more badass Tele is just a block with pickups.

It's the SOUND Singe....the SOUND, that beautiful clear and clean musical sound, almost acoustic. Not that fat Hammond Organ type of sound and weight that you get from the Ball and Claw Les Paul. ?
