Valie Anybody Please,Where can I find AAA grade Spruce for an Acoustic I am currently busy with?I stay in Orkney N/West and any decent wood is hard to find in this part of the country.
Manfred-Klose Go check out this websites, they supply instrument woods, i think i can be ordered thruogh the internet: http://www.prosono.co.za/en/luthiers.shtml
AlanRatcliffe Your best bet is ordering from someone like Luthiers Mercantile for acoustic tonewoods - www.lmii.com. Anything local is a crapshoot - if you get the right kind of wood, it will be green and completely uncut. Prosono is more for your exotic african tonewoods used for back and side sets (most of which you can get cheaper from LMII). Best thing about LMII is that with your first order, they'll send you the latest catalogue filled with all kinds of info and WAS and TAS stuff (Wood Acquisition Syndrome and Tool Acquisition Syndrome ?).
Valie Thanx for the info guys. It looks that I'll have to take the long way home to get quality soundboards. In the meantime I'll have to use my mahogany supply for a "Browny".Cant be too bad since I see from Taylor and Martin they are making a comeback.
