I agree with his service being exceptional. My experience talking to him about the type of mods he does and talking to people who have sent amps to him has been that he tends to swap out old for new, i.e. tube rectifiers for solid state ones etc. Of course he consults with the owner before he does such work, but I interpret this to mean his philosophy is not to strictly keep things original, which may or may not be what you are looking for.
In any case, perhaps he changed. Either way, he is a pleasure to deal with and fairly priced. It goes without saying that his custom built amps are put together very well.
