josh Hello everyone 8) I made this thread for all the Electro-Harmonix Freaks, including me. ? The purpose of this thread is 1st to show us your EHX gear & then 2nd talk or recommend EHX's pedals. I myself dont have a photo yet of my EHX gear but it includes: a little big muff, a pocket metal muff & a memory boy!! The last pedal I need is the EHX Nano Small Stone Phaser. ? Well there you have it, I just started this thread now everyone SHOW YOUR EHX GEAR!!! ?
MikeM Best modern production EH pedal IMO, http://www.ehx.com/products/freeze Overall their best pedal So much better than their modern junk.
MIKA-the-better-one I used to have a EHX Ring mod, Big Muff, and Graphic Fuzz...... and memory boy..... all were good, but I sld them all :/ or dont use them
Danny-B I love EHX. Besides the poorly printed graphics, badly fitting chassis and loose knobs. But i freaking love my pog?
singemonkey I used to have a holy grail that I traded to Cannon. Excellent pedal. I only got rid of it because I wonted the new boss spring reverb emulator - which has it's own disadvantages. One thing that should be injected into the discussion is that, (a) the old EHX are ridiculously large. Thank goodness they've started making these nano versions. And (b) watch out. EHX pedals are some of the most poorly put together electronics available. Make sure you buy them under guarantee. My Holy Grail completely lived up to all the reviews by conking out twice in quick succession, and when I traded it to Cannon, the LED still didn't work. So they make wonderful effects, but they're not reliable. Make sure you've got a plan for if they go wrong. It's also a possibility to have one of our many pedal techs to get inside them and dot the is and cross the ts.
AlanRatcliffe EHX stuff is generally at least a little quirky with lots of character. The new ones can be a bit unreliable and generally can't be modded or fixed because of the SMD circuits. I have an old Small Stone that's been modded with a couple of trimpots to fix the volume drop and adjust the feedback. I've owned and sold six or seven through the years - I keep on trying different phasers, but I keep on coming back to the SS. The Big Muff is the other classic EHX that's hard to beat. Not quite my style for the bulk of what I do, but if I were to buy one again it would be the Tone Wicker version (or ideally, mod an old Muff so it has the tone bypass and wicker switch). The POG is interesting, but if you have a good pitch shifter you can do the same things but with better sound quality.
shadow1 I have the Little Big Muff Pi = great unique tone Just picked up the Nano Holy Grail (pedalboard real estate is important to me) and it sounds beautiful and it is really compact which is even better...2 thumbs up from me for this effect.
