Yet another Signal Chain suggestion?

I'm just about to have my pedal board complete, and before the pedals I ordered get here, I'd like some final touches to be done now, so I can get that bad puppy up fast.

Have a look at the signal chain as I have it, and let me know if its cool, or if you'd move something somewhere else, and yes I am aware that it's all subjective, but just as a good guideline for me.

GUITAR > BOSS FA-1 >FV-500L > KORG TUNER > GE-7 > CRUNCHBOX > EH BIG MUFF WICKER > EH HOG > CE-2 > DD-20 > EH Holy Grail Plus> Digitech Jamman > AMP

*Do volume pedals need power? I've never owned one before.

That chain will work well. I'd change one thing - I'd move the volume pedal to between the CE-2 and the DD-20. That's a personal preference - I prefer the gain of the drive pedals to be unaffected by the volume pedal and to be able to cut as much of the noise as possible between songs.

Most volume pedals are passive - they don't need power. Definitely not the Boss models.

noob question - wouldn't it make much more sense to put the GE-7 (that's the boss EQ, right?) after your drives?

also - do you have/use an amp effects loop?

I think it's better to add them in front? Then you can shape your drive better. I.e less driven bass and more driven treble etc.. Same effect as rolling the vol down.

Neither is better, it's a taste thing. I prefer to avoid using EQ on drives If I have to EQ the drive, it's the wrong drive), but if I have to use it, I prefer to EQ the bass before the drive and the treble after.
