Hi all, its been a while since if been here, but i'm starting to pick up the guitar again (yeay) and really want to start working on some spesific skills.
The first is guitar/vocal independence. This basically comes down to singing a certain rhythm whilst playing another rhythm(or something like that). John meyers neon is a good example. This ofcourse comes easy to us all.. NOT >.<
So i was just wondering if some of you peoples know some exercises or resources that can help with this.
I think a skill like this can really help push song writing into a new level.
Anyways, what do you think

I'm not good at this at all... but, if you can play something in your sleep i.e. practised it into the ground and back, then doing anything while playing it becomes easier.

HEHE true ?
Malkav
The only real way around it is practice ?
Learn easy tracks and learn to sing them...Icubus' Drive comes to mind as a nice one to try out ?
Squonk
Another possible Easier one would be 'Owner of a lonely Heart", Jon Anderson sings completely against what the guitarist is playing
