Anyone cycling in the Argus on Sunday?

Anyone? By some strange quirk of fate I will be there with a loudhailer I believe. And a map. My 2 weakest points. Combined. Should be interesting! But ... I want to see what it's about anyhow as I cycle - it's 100 km apparently. That's pretty far I'd say. Want to do it next year if at all possible.

It'll be my first time marshalling the event with the Think Bike Marshalling team.
Look for the bright orange bib. ?

I always wanted to do the Argus by bike, and finally I got to do it.
Full road closures and the entire width of Chapman's Peak for me to corner as wide as I wanna.
Wow what a ride... wooohooo. ?

Wow what an event. I was over at Noordhoek at about 3-ish and just then there was this mist over the mountain, (beautiful spot), music thumping, air nice and crisp, few drops of rain, magic, with all the cyclists whizzing by. Carrying out their dream ... Nice to see stuff like this. Probably very irritating for the outside world struggling in the traffic, but it's only once a year so... And to see how music builds the spirit!

Should said where you were going to be! I live just up the mountain, walked down with the kids. It is really fantastic, although I must say, the Two Oceans brings more of a lump to the throat... the struggle seems to be greater?
The music was fun, although at one point Lynyrd Skynyrd at the green was competing with Lady Gaga at the farm village ?

Ya I didn't know where I was going to be!(and actually still don't really know where I was - West coaster here)
yes - the Two Oceans I think is far more of a struggle - I watched that a year back. I was at the beginning and at the end - and was so struck how like gazelles the serious runners are. It was like being amongst a herd of buck at the beginning! And at the end it's very emotional. All the competitors come in like battle-scarred warriors!

They say it's madness to run these distances tho - wrecks some people permanently - that cycling is better.
