So Aubs, what are the differences between the necks? And what is the unplugged comparison like? I would imagine that 335s are more consistent in unplugged tone than Les Pauls because of using laminated wood.

I originally was gonna buy the ES-335 Dot (Standard) which has a 1959 Round Profile neck, similar to the Tokai ES-155, but decided on the ES-335 TD because it has the '60s Thin neck, and I prefer that. Personally I find that when playing one or the other for about 5-10 minutes, I forget about the neck profile, and it somehow does'nt really matter anymore ...... does this make sense?

Regarding the rest of your question, I've had the ES-155 for a few weeks, and the ES-335 a few days, have'nt even spent more than 30 minutes with it, so I am gonna wait a while, get Stratisfear and perhaps a few guys round, put both guitars through their paces, and post a more full report. I don't expect them to be the same, hopefully different with unique characteristics, no matter how subtle ....... bottom line, I love em both, no favourites here.

I totally know what you mean about valuing them for their differences. My Gibson has a much thinner neck than my Tokai, which I find less comfortable. But the Gibson has other charms for which I'm prepared to overlook this ?
