Korg Pitch Black with Electro Acoustic

I have recently acquired a Korg Pich Black Tuner, and it's fantastic with me Electric , but doesn't seem to work well with my Takamine.

It jumps from sharp to flat and takes forever to tune, I cant risk using this in a live setup.

Anyone else experience this problem with the Pitch Black?

Man the korg pitch black is one of the best tuners........ I am trying to rid my Boss tu2 for one......... I cant imagine why it would not work with it...... All i know is acoustics need a quiet enviroment to tune in, all the wood resonates from noise around....
If you dont come right with it, and you want to throw it in a river, let me know

When you tune try turning the high frequencies down on the acoustic's EQ and see if that makes a difference. I know whenever I tune I've gotta use the neck p/u because its all over the place with the extra h/f harmonics from the bridge (I guess).

+1 on Arnie: just like an electric being better to tune on neck pup, turn down highs on your equalizer. The thing is also damn sensitive so don't pick too hard...

I have had a similar problem with my Morgan and some tuners. The explanation that I've had is that that guitar has so many overtones it basically drives a tuner crazy. I found that tuning with 12th fret harmonics produced good results. When I've used those same tuners with my Larrivee I haven't had the same degree of difficulty.

I have 4 tuners right now (it's ridiculous). Two are clip ons - the Planet Waves seems to struggle with the Morgan a little, the no name one copes OK. My "pocket" tuner is a Seiko. This doesn't get on that well with the Morgan. Then I have a TU-2 that works quite happily with all my guitars.

I don't have any explanation for this.

I read an article about tuning once (might have been posted here) that suggested - and I've found this to be the case - that the tuner locks on really quickly if you pick in the middle of the string. I.e., pick at the 12th fret rather than use the harmonic. It should be a little simpler than using the harmonics and might just solve these problems.

Man I need a pitchblack. Also a salary. >☹

12th fret harmonics work for me. I find it helps tuning stability with any guitar.

I do a quick open, 12th harmonic and 12th fret... let's you know if your intonation is wonky as well. The pitchblack is also "tunable", take a look at the manual - there might be a better setting for acoustic guitars...
