Hi X-Bob,
It's a good question and an interesting use of loops. Being a bit of a looper myself I don't think the RC-2 have that kind of functionality as it is the one pedal version. I have the Digitech Jamman that has the two control pedals and I can do the recording and immediately stop it with the dedicated stop pedal on the right hand side. I don't think it is a special feature, but more a case of having a dedicated stop pedal. have you tried to add a momentary interupt switch on the STOP/TEMPO input on the RC-2?
I can get almost what I want. I record the "half verse" stop, it starts playing again and is in overdub mode, let it go for one bar and then stop. So there's a little bit of overdubbing but if my playing is consistent it's not too bad if you time the stop well. BUT it's a lot of distracting foot tapping when I'm trying to sing as well.
All good practice from a discipline POV I suppose. Maybe I should investigate that 2nd pedal.
