Bugger!

I finally figured it out. I un-installed the Gallery on a *separate* forum that I'd created by copying the files from this one. As it turns out, it hard-coded the paths to the files and un-installed itself from *this* forum.

That *probably* means we lost the pics that were already there. Bugger bugger bugger!

OK the pics aren't lost but the database entries are. I think I should attempt re-installing it and we'll start from scratch.

Sound OK?

Is the gallery for this forum just a plugin or is it custom coded? Just asking because I don't think its very user friendly, and would like to provide some tips / ideas.

It's a mod. Quite a useless one, too, I might add ?

I'm thinking of replacing certain things on the forum with other stuff that works better but, as always, that takes time. What tips/ideas do you have? I'm always open to new ideas.

For on I'd add Prev and Next buttons so you can page through images.

Take out most of the info currently under the images and just show the image name, and posted by.

Possibly make the thumbnails a bit bigger.

I have recently implemented this on a corporate intranet, and it works quite well.

I've implemented similar things using Drupal. Check out TRPhoto.co.za. If you wait for a gallery page to load completely and then click one of the images, it starts a slideshow.

Will definitely give it some thought and come up with something better. Thanks ?
