What is the best movie you've never seen?

Amongst many others, I have never seen the Godfather series. I keep telling myself that I should but I just never get around to it. I actually think that I may have missed the bus on this one. Sure, I can go out at any time and rent the DVD's but it probably won't have the impact anymore than it would have had 30 years ago.

It will , believe me...go rent it. ?

Some movies which stand out for me are:

Dr Zhivago
Schindler's List
Sunday in the Country
Deliverance
The Godfather..all of them...especially the 1st one, completely in a different class.

OK, I have not seen The Matrix or Gone with the wind fully (it bored me a bit) and many other so-called iconic ones of course

YOu guys have found my other passion.... I have seen so many films I am an active member at 5 Video Stores (DVD Stores) I rent about 15 dvd's a week, I go to the cinema about once a week, and I am constantly downloading films, about 2 a day. SO in a week I watch about 20 films. ?

And I love them. But to state a best film.......
Western- True Grit (both the original with John Wayne and the new one)
Comedy- (I dont thinnk I have a favourite)
Gangster- Goodfella's (obviously)
War- Tigerland

I love so many films, I am big into Zombie and B grade films, Mondo Films (Zombie Cannibal Holocaust, Man from Deep River etc etc) Grindhouse stuff, Planet Terror.
I love Star trek, And have seen EVERY EPISODE from the original 3 seasons, as well as every other season made......
STAR WARS, again I have them all, on original format, Digitally Remastered, and obviously the new ones, including the animated clone wars.

This year alot of great films have come out, Black Swan, The Kids are All Right, True Grit, Social Network, as well as alot of great films are coming out...

As you can tell I love films... ?

Never seen the Star Wars ones any of the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potters - not really what I'm into. Now if they all had zombies in them, then it would be a different story...

Now tell us what is the best movie you've NEVER seen. Should be interesting to hear that from a movie buff such as yourself.

Obviously, as some have pointed out, it's impossible to know because you haven't seen it. But I'm interested to know about the iconic movies that has garnered high praise from many others but which you have still not seen.

Requiem for a Dream.

Some movies just have me going, "If I watch this, it's going to bring me down hard and I'm going to hate the world for a while afterwards." I don't generally pay to get whipped.

I did go and see Black Swan though, (by the same director) and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I also ejoyed Pi. But Requiem just seems like it's going to make me hate life, no matter how good a film it is.

Best movie I have never viewed with my own eyes......... I dont know becuase I go rent it if I have not watched it :/
DOGTOOTH ( a greek film ) The ads for it look weird as hell, and disturbing.
Or.... La Horde, the best of French Zombie films. They take evrything over the top.

I cant believe so many have not seen Star Wars, Star Trek, and Matrix........... this is one weird situation

Actually to be honest, while I'm a huge fan of The Matrix myself I do feel the second and third movies detracted from the awesomeness of the first one.

Yes, I also find it somewhat shocking. To be fair though, personally I consider only Star Wars to be an absolute you-must-see-it-and-we-will-have-your-scalp-if-you-don't.

Like I said above, the Matrix was brilliant but the second and third films fizzled out. Star Trek, for some reason, never really got my juices flowing. I guess I'm just too much of a Star Wars fan to be able to take Star Trek seriously.

I don't know because I haven't seen it.

I've never seen Gone With The Wind. I've never seen Casablanca. Or Breakfast At Tiffany's. Or any of the Godfather flicks. I saw about half of Apocalypse Now. I haven't seen Henry V with Laurence Olivier - that's one that I really would like to see.

I've never seen This Is Spinal Tap.

I saw the original Star Wars trilogy, but haven't seen any of the prequels.

Lots of catching up to do.

Goodfellas - Excellent movie. I'm guessing you've seen all the other Scorcese movies.
Tigerland isn't bad, but Full metal jacker is better..both dealing with the same subject.
The original True Grit is brilliant and altough Jeff Bridges comes close, he can't touch the Duke's portrayal of Rooster Cogburn.
Best movie i've never seen...i'd say American Psycho. Haven't seen Kurosawa's hidden fortress either.
