I would love to go on one of these ?
@ Bob , I see you failed to mention one Richard Thompson that's on the Artist List.
Who he? ?
I see Colin Hay from Men at Work is on the list!
And loads of people I haven't heard of. Which can be fun. In 2009 Mrs X-Rated and I went to a music festival in Beverley, Yorkshire to see Bruce Molsky playing. He was fab, as expected (actually more fab than expected), but a real chunk of genuine fun, pleasure and wonderment came from the other artists of whom we knew nothing. There was just this parade of excellent, interesting musicians across that stage and we just sat there and dug it all.
Sometimes we have gone to see people that we have heard of but don't really know much about. In June last year we saw a whole concert full mainly of such artists - Harry Shearer, Camille O'Sullivan, Norma Waterson, Jez Lowe ... if you know who any of them are, I still don't know much about most of them but by the beard of Danny Thompson they were all great. I felt that lovely feeling of the world getting a little bigger, a little more varied, a little richer. We never did manage to see the punk, subway-dwelling, born again banjo player from New York, but then you can't see everything at a festival like that.
