Gearhead Despite knowing better, I have made a plan to glue some wood together using epoxy. I am only doing it so I can be sure that the joint will be easy to hide underneath the finish. Anyway, my stash has run out and the last remaining stuff cannot be trusted as it is well beyond its shelf life. Last time I used it I had to bake the joint with the car-in-the-sun method for a week just to get it to cure. So, I am looking for locally available good quality slow setting thin (not viscous) epoxy. Andy McGibbon recommended stuff called zPoxy but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. The stuff you can get all over is the fast-curing thick and flexible stuff like Alcolin and Pratley's; this is worthless for making instruments. Does anyone have any recommendations?

jeremy-Budgen You could try cascomite from genkem its a powdered hyde glue that is very strong and produces a thin glue line, and the pot life is about 1 to 2 hours, just follow the mixing instructions carfully and use a little water and add the water to the powder not the other way otherwise you will get balls of power forming . hope this helps I use it for all my gluing up og guitars parts , very strong and an invisible glue line, you will have to clamp the joint over night for maximum strength.
