Hi,
I saw this while paging through the popular mechanics mag,
http://www.rawtalentguitar.com
I don't know if someone on this forum has used it or heard about it etc. Since I battle to find people to jam with or teachers for that matter in my area I am interested but not sure what the general feel is regarding software like this...I know, nothing beats good ol' hard work (practice) but I feel stagnated.
any other software out there that you guys know of that is worth spending money on?
I'd be a bit wary of that site based purely upon the advert of the guy getting chicks ?
The one tool I've found to be very useful from a playing development perspective is the Guitar Speed Trainer:
http://www.guitarspeed.com/
The site is quite crap but the tool itself contains a bunch of useful exercises and forces you to approach them in a systematic way. I've found that it has helped my fluency quite a bit, though I haven't been strict about sticking to a practice schedule with it. It's a great tool if, like me, you found yourself a bit lost in terms of trying to establish a practice routine that is structured and progressive.
Otherwise, there are a number of good sites like Lick Library which provide some really excellent lessons from some very good tutors. The good ones require a subscription, but they're worth it if you're looking to get an eye in on a particular genre or top guitarist's style!
