You know what, there are people who listen to metal coz they like metal music and then there are people who listen to metal because they want to be unique.
While there's nothing wrong with being unique, I find that people who
aim for it fail miserably and do the whole "image" thing. And it happens with all sorts of people: goths, metal-heads, emos.
So, for me, the trick is simply in finding people who listen to the music for the music, not for how cool it makes them. When someone says, "Well then you're not a true <fill-in-the-blank>", I switch off and start speaking to someone new!
This is a bit of a rant but it follows the same thing as saying, "A real man doesn't/does <fill-in-the-blank>". Err, no. A real man has a penis. That's about it. The rest is all variable. Kthanksbye ?
