What's your most useless bit of kit?

And why? For me it's my 15W Sanchez practice amp. I never use it due to studying teens/sleeping mrs/etc, and even so it's a heap. Oh, and the handful of sharkfin picks I bought to experiment with.

i think i may have used it to twist up my car jack to change a tyre......

as for string stuff.. I got Fast Fret and it works like a dream.. you dont feel any residue, but your fingers slip over them like a wet snoek..

Ooof, ja, I've played guitars with that stuff on. 1) your fingers do exactly as you describe; 2) there is eventually residue and a vicious cycle of having to reapply it constantly; 3) your control in playing suffers quite a lot, cos snoeks can escape halfway through a bend. Nei man.

serious??? did u perhaps not wipe the strings after application??

i apply it.. then wipe the strings down, .... and then start playing.. haven't had any residue build up and apply it about once a month..

I didn't really like the feeling, anyway. Although, I do live in the haven from humidity that is Johannesburg, so I don't really need to lube my strings.

My foot switch that came with my amp,it lets you switch between lead and clean, which is nice but there's no way to toggle through the effects, so you can't switch on an effect mid song because the effect stays on your clean and lead channels, which is pretty pointless for me (Luckily I have a few pedals...)

Those amp foot switches are generally useless. My Peavey Classic 130 came with one for channel and reverb. Me'thinks me smashed it in frustration.

My Boss DrRhythm drumbox... works very well through the PA and great fun to practice the bass riffs with, but it simply takes too long to program.
I wrote and saved whole songs which I played along with and then I left it standing too long and the battery died... songs gone... ☹
I gave it away to a noob recently but he also finds it too much of a hassle. :?

What's up with sharkfins ? These are excellent plecs for certain styles....my favourites...the red ones :-\

I'll take all y'all's Sharkfin's off your hands.LOL!!! I ain't kiidin'.......those puppies are not readily available around here.....not popular at all.

I have a lot of stuff I never use anymore....a 16 channel mixer and 1/2" Fostex 16 track recorder with remote transport.......but the saddest is my JCM 800 and 1960 4X12 slant cab. They just sit taking up space.

I know......all of y'all will take it off my hands!! ;0)

Oh you just trollin' hard now buddy!

I have a Boss DS-1 that my son uses to "make electricity"... the sound he makes is better than the distortion I squeezed out of it...
