What's your most useless bit of kit?

And why?

For me it's my 15W Sanchez practice amp. I never use it due to studying teens/sleeping mrs/etc, and even so it's a heap.

Oh, and the handful of sharkfin picks I bought to experiment with.

My 65W Marshall. It is just too loud for normal jamming around the house, so it rarely gets used. But beware the few instances it does get used!!

Right now, my capo is pretty useless (except for the odd occassion when i tinker around with the floyd rose and have to use it to keep the slack strings from flapping around all over the pace)

You fret it halfway up the neck or next to the body somewhere? That's a pretty neat trick!

Thanks. I picked up this tip from a Stewmac newsletter. I place a bunch of old business cards (taped together..comes in handy often especially when i want to take off all the strings but still need to keep the floyd in its place) between the the string block & the wood at the back.
Step 2 is unlock the nut and slacken all the strings up to a point where i can slip 4 fingers (think karate chop) between the neck & bridge pups.
Last step, place capo at around the 12th - 14th fret. This process also allows for adjustment of intonation (which is a royal pain on a floyd rose...until you've done it a few times)

I'm actually being too harsh on my capo. The bugger also comes in handy when checking action and other maintenance work.

But for useless kit, my pick holder........ it just looks cool, I have never used it

My capo as well i rate because it's a kak one so doesn't work that nicely and unfortunately my UX1 because it's causing my computer BSOD atm ☹

For me it was probably my Boss NS2 pedal that I have since sold,
and for some reason I just don't use my whammy bar

Think of it as gaining a whole new set of skills (that may become sought after depending on your expertise) ?
Seriously though, an FR is great if you're into using it and know how to treat it.

Big mistake. Either get a different pup or learn to use it because there are LOADS of tones there that you need.

Rather sadly it's my Mesa Boogie .22 Caliber amp. For recording I use plugins. For TV lounge practice I use a Cube 30x - so much easier. Sounds good 'out the box', and at super low volumes, yet can go darn loud when the need arises. The Mesa needs an EQ pedal in front which brings along more cables, battery replacement etc.

I'm a convenience junky, what can I say.

Since I got my cube amp my flanger and chorus pedals are collecting dust because I have some decent built-in effects. I even bought a multi-psu for my pedals so that I could use them all at the same time. Oh well....

oh yeh there is one more useless bit of kit I have, its called 'String Lube', looks like a deodorant stick,, used to lubricate your strings,,
I hate the bloody thing,, made my strings feel all sticky,, what a k&k invention,,,, in fact if anyone wants it you can HAVE it,,, for free,,,,just come collect,,,

+1 lemme check first that it hasnt dried out as I havent used it for some time ?
