BMU Has anyone said Per Nilsson yet? One of the two current reigning metal shredders imo, the other being Jeff Loomis. Much as I love Loomis' playing, Nilsson takes the prize for me. Smoothest legato this side of Holdsworth, jaw dropping sweep and tapping tecnique and most of all a very unique style, while Loomis shows his Jason Becker influences pretty clearly. While Loomis has instructional videos etc, you're hard pressed to find much on Nilsson. There are some clips on Youtube. I.e: underrated! (He is, of course, with the band Scar Symmetry)
BMU Ah CAB, you da man. I hadn't seen those before. (Ok we won't put you in the looney bin just yet, despite your nefarious Page transgressions.)
BMU CAB - I take that back, you're pure evil. ? Those dim arp stretches (vid 2, 1:30) are torture, ran into them before on some of Paul Gilbert's stuff. Per makes it look trivial (of course, that's why he's in this thread).
Jack-Flash-Jr Arjun Menon wrote Per Nilsson is definitely underrated. CAB, those videos are terrifying. It's only a hoodie.
Bob-Dubery Mike Campbell. Seriously good player who always does the job the band need rather than trying to steal the limelight.

Saw her live in the UK, just her and a double bass player best show I have ever seen, and I've seen a few. huge fan of keaggy, and he was at some point called the greatest, but recently gone quiet. listen to lights of madrid, man what an album.
arjunmenon EttieneB wrote Mike Landau and Scott Henderson Oh Scott Henderson definitely. Was listening to Dolemite earlier this afternoon.
Conrad I think, from the electric guitarists I like, Michael Romeo has never really received enough credit.
Hammeron Arjun Menon wrote Norman86 wrote Haha, dont you wish Arjun!!! Do you have any CD's to buy or something? ? Not yet, but i'm working on changing that (hopefully in about 4 - 5 months). Has that changed yet ?

I've got material all written down but no reliable recording setup (nor the moolah to go into a studio). Life seems to get in the way too. One of these days though...
