Tommy Victor, main man of Prong. Him and Ted Parsons on drums, who is an amazing under rated drummer, on the album 'Beg to Differ'.

Pleasure ? The things he can do with a guitar are truly out of this world. Although he can tear up a fretboard, what i love about him is that he puts taste, timing and note choice way ahead of anything else. Haven't seen the London Symphony orchestra ☹ but i have seen the Live In Australia (forget whether it was Perth or Sydney) and the intro solo to that concert just kills me every time i hear it.

Coming back to the OP about underrated guitar players, i watched Phil Collins Live & Loose in Paris a few days ago and Simply Red's Home (live in Sicily) earlier today. Struck me that Kenji Suzuki and Daryl Streumer are both very underrated guitar players.

These days i've been flipping out on guys who can really play a great rhythm part. I might get lynched for this but Steve Miller's Bingo is so good.

For years I kind of hated him, because he didn't sound like Steve Hackett at all, I was a huge Genesis fan(but not the Phil Collins years).
Also watched a Phil Collins concert long years ago and was quite taken back at how good he is! On this Live video they did a version of "People get Ready" which had some nice guitar picking parts in it.

I had a few SMB albums in the 70's "Fly like and Eagle" , "The Joker" . Good Musician

James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins - Corgan gets the kudos, but I saw them live and Iha was the guy who did most of the melodic, haunting lines.

Marc Ford of The Black Crowes, country rock genius IMHO

Vernon Reid of Living Colour - Jazz, punk, funk, rock, he can play it all...

Mike Einziger of Incubus - the guy us a rocket scientist (literally) and his playing is so clever and cerebral but still rocks.

Marc Ford +1 BUT... I have his solo stuff and he, like Mick Taylor, just doesn't have the goods on his own.
Vernon Reid +1 too... I still listen to Mistaken Identity every now and then, I feel the production was not raw enough for numbers like Saint Cobain but that's a personal pref issue.

Trey Spruance from Mr Bungle and the awesome Faith No More album King For A Day... Fool For A Lifetime.

Adam Jones from Tool. Definitelly the most under-rated guitarist of all time.

He just plays some riffs that are insanelly hectic to immitate. Not to mention that the rest of the band consists of bunch a geniuses. Easy to overlook Adam Jone's work in all the Tool's albums.

Have to agree - the only reason I did not mention him is that he is quite well renowned in many circles but yes, the guy is just a genius. His off time appreciation is insane,

No I don't think Nuno counts in this category as he is pretty highly regarded in Guitar circles. Awesome guitarist, drummer, pianist and singer - oh for just a fraction of his talent!
