Carlos Santana for me. When I was introduced to his music a decade ago I absolutely loved it and then over the next few years I discovered that I like it less and less the more I listen to it and the more he produces. If only he could diversify a bit more. His most recent album, though, I actually liked (maybe because it's so different from all his other work) but it doesn't seem to have garnered a lot of critical acclaim.

mmmmm i tend to hate the idea that guitarists are rated at all.........but thats the way of the music industry ........
I don't think it is just the way of the music industry but just about any industry. Some movies are liked by many (meaning that they are rated) while others make a loss at the box office. Same goes for books, stage plays, cars, cold drinks and computers. I daresay that just about everything is rated to some degree. And you don't have to agree with any rating, which is why I find threads like this interesting. I like to hear where people diverge from the mainstream ratings. I for one don't rate the iPhone as highly as it seems just about everybody else. I just don't understand what the fuss is about and why someone would choose to fork out R10k for a phone.

Your own, there is no other standard by which you can judge this.
