That's not the player's fault. Clapton doesn't live up to the hype, but the hype isn't of his making and it's nothing that he sought. And mostly that "so-and-so is the best player on earth" type hype is parroted by people who really haven't spent a lot of time listening critically to a variety of music.
Yes but this is about players who are overrated, and when tons of people go around calling someone a lot better than he is then he is overrated ? I'm not calling him a bad player, not my taste at all, but not bad.
