Cort EVL-X6 I just love the look of the thing. Especially the "technical" look of the bridge and trem. The inlay on the fretboard is a nice touch. CONSTRUCTION: Bolt-on BODY: Alder NECK: Maple 3pc, Modern "C" Shape BINDING: n/a FRETBOARD: Rosewood, 15 3/4" Radius(400mm) FRETS: 24 / Jumbo (2.9mm) SCALE: 25 1/2" (648mm) INLAY: EVL Custom Inlay w/ Pentagon Circles TUNERS: Die cast BRIDGE: Double locking-II PICKUPS: EMG 89 & 81TW (H-H) ELECTRONICS: 1 volume (w/ push pull), 1 tone (w/ push pull), 3way lever HARDWARE: Platinum STRINGS: D'addario EXL110(046-010) COLORS: EVL-X6 BKMS - Black Metallic Satin Does anybody know where in Gauteng I might find one of these to go have a look and cop a feel?

Pentagram or pentacle? There is a difference ?

What about just the X6, without the EV(i)L part ?

I think he likes the satin on black look!! ?

RobK

A little bit of very fine sandpaper and you have a satin finish.

Of course, with all the skill gained recently with the fret job, you could just sand off the evl petagon cirles (as cort calls them) ?

I dunno, bro. My copy of "Seance and Woo-doo for Dummies" has gone missing :roflmao:

Yessir!

P.S They want a LOT more than MSRP x10... but I was promised a "sweat deal". We'll see! ?

Incidentally, just searching some local online shops, the EVL-X4 seems to sell for R4000 +, so if the x6 is higher specced, I think you're in for a price surprise (and not a good one too), compared to the overseas price you've found.

I will say, though, that I've always got a good discount from the local Bothner's branch (Glenwood Village Music), but it's usually if I go into the shop. So take a trip and see. Also, find out when they have their Guitar Month - they usually have really nice discounts on guitars and guitar gear then.

ahem..

if youre coming to centurion to try em.. i have the x custom which is the x6 big brother. came specced with excellent kit..

of course i custom painted the mofo so now it really is custom.

also installed a 5 way to get some single coil action.

youre welcome to test drive it

If you own one and you're happy with it then that's all the recommendation I need. I'd be very keen to try it out but TBH I don't really know what to look and listen for. It has to speak to me though when I hold it in my hands and whisper "take me home".

This one??

One thing with Cort is they are always good value for money.

The EVLs are kind of aimed at the Goth and metal markets, at least this year they've moved away from black hardware too, so look a bit less "stealth Goth". ?

The cheaper EVLs will be last year's models (i.e. without the satin hardware - which was only introduced this year).

I want it nao! To, erm, hell with the EVL, it's the body shape I'm after and that thing looks wicked! It really does look like it's got quality kit.

Five clips.... that's within GAS range!

The muz.co.za lists the guitar colour as "Mystic red razor"

Looks a bit like dried cow placenta. Am I being fussy?

guidothepimmp

Now go to guido (or bothners), play it a bit and then ask nicely for a decent price. Reccomend you try something like:

Norman86

hahaha :roflmao:

Yeah, and hope it works!!! ?

Tonedef

I'll practise that face. In fact, instead of a hat, I'll take my strat. They'll be so overcome with pity, they'll donate to my gas fund and GIVE me the axe.

(And to get that weirdo out of the store!)
