New Les Paul coming on saturday.

Okay guys here is the news. After lets say about almost 6 months without an electric guitar to my name, and a few very close calls of near insanity, I have finally ordered my new Les Paul (although I have bonded very well with my old Tanglewood acoustic, and we have become one again) This is just something for me to do while I wait for it in eager anticipation. I actually don't know what to do with myself, that is why I am posting this before I even pick it up.I can only go pick it up from Marshall music on Saturday morning. Which is also testing my sanity at the moment. I am over the moon, and Iain Cook - Store manager has been overly helpful. He has been a star.
I am going to post a little teaser pic here. Then when I get it I will post a little review and some glorious pics.

Okay guys so here is the beef, it is a Tanglewood TSB 58 HB (Honey Burst)

I have been on the look out for well, lets say 3 years for a good quality Les Paul. I have been turned off the Epiphone's as I have heard quite a few just bad stories about Epiphones build quality, Especially of late. One of the guitar guys at a well respected guitar shop in my area was actually horribly disgusted at the quality of the last few Epi's he got in. Disgusted is actually a nice way of putting it. Anyways I too have seen quite a decline in the quality. I have been weighing up some of the Ibanez ART series guitars, as well as one or two of the Cort M and Z guitars. They have brought out the CR direct LP copies, but they didnt really do much for me.
Then with great help from Iain at Marshalls in Hillcrest, he knew I was on the lookout and told me he has an LP style guitar in stock, sent me a pic and I fell right in love. I had happened to play the Gold Top Version that very same day at Coastals in Durban north.
My men and ladies of Guitar Forum SA. THIS is a great guitar. I was bowled over with excitement. They are so easy to play, and sound so good. I have a Tanglewood acoustic that I picked up a few years back, and it has been nothing but a dream and a delight, and I had never seen a Tanglewood electric in person, so I could never judge their performance... anyways...
There are a few difference like the neck is of a more modern faster profile, not as fat, which some like and some dont, and I am sure some of the real guitar connoisseurs will find other things here and there. I have little hobbit hands, so the slightly thinner faster neck suits me a lot.

Hey! I have one of those ? Midnight wine red, to be specific. Great guitars! I didn't like mine that much at first... But it's grown on me a lot...
I upgraded most of the electronics and got it a proper set up - plays like a dream.

Here is the bad news, havnt got my real camera out to take some classic photo's just yet, but I do have one taken with my phone.

This guitar is so out of this world even batman likes it.
I really, REALLY like this guitar, it is definitely the best electric guitar I have ever owned, Ibanez's, Corts, Jacksons, Squiers.
The build quality and finish are absolutely pristine and the sound is great. I know some people with a finer ear and dare I say one of Aubs' mighty a collection, will hear the difference, but anyways, I am absolutely ecstatic over this guitar. It is treating me so well, and I am going to have this one a very long time.

No it is the same, it is just the really blurry phone camera pic that made it look that way.

Very nice. When I think of how difficult it was to get a reasonable Les Paul copy when I was starting out. Looks really sweet. Enjoy.

p.s. I'm glad the stores agree with me about the new Epiphone Les Pauls. They seem to have brought the prices down but unfortunately have dropped the quality as well.

I have a Tanglewood Jazz Guitar and am quite impressed with it so far. Impressive Build and construction. The Neck is so playable, just needs a proper setup and a possible pickup change and this will be ready to gig

@ squonk :Your Zoom pedal - Did you sell it or upgrade, and what did you think of it?
I have a GFX-5 and I get no peace from people chuning it.
I absolutely love it, and I just wanted some feedback from others.

The Zoom GFX range were a lot better than some of their cheaper units, The GFX-5 is a good pedal, I have tried it.

I have the Zoom G2.1U which is decent with some FX but quite nasty with Overdrive, Distortion. I am keeping it as a backup.

I am currently using the Tiny Line 6 Pocket Pod, which I find I can dial in some good tones, but will need to upgrade as this is impractical for gigging.

You can never go wrong with line 6, as far as I heard. I was thinking about maybe going with a line 6 arrangement.
I cant tell on the website, but are you able to plug in to the shortboard and control multiple effects, or is it limited?
Because that could be epic.
