Gibson's iconic double cutaway SG electric guitar turns 50 this year. To celebrate, the company is releasing a new model every month, kicking-off with this, the SG Standard 24.

Spec includes a solid mahogany body, glued-in quarter-sawn mahogany neck, PAF-style 57 Classic humbuckers, Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, vintage-style tuners and a 24-fret neck as its name implies. Topped off with a special '50 Years' headstock emblem and an Antique Ebony finish.

Truth be told... This is the only Gibson i actually like and would play!
While the LP looks nice, its not my cup of tea! But the SG... Now we're talking ?

Nice indeed...I prefer them in Heritage Cherry though... ?
SG's are great guitars...however they lack somewhat the mid-bass response of the Les Paul...but still great sounding and resonant, especially through a Marshall stack.

I agree, a SG is just the sexiest Gibs there is, I also like the cherry more, but the black looks good and I've seen in a build somewhere a white one, wich I like, but as long as it has a solid color that catches the light on those purdy cutaway curves and beveling... :-[

I'm not a big SG fan, (perhaps because I can't seem to play the dam things properly :? ) HOWEVER, I think this sounds like a rocking guitar. You'd certainly get some serious sound outa that, and th 50 Years edition should appreciate pretty well financially in the long term.
