Top is certainly some kind of spruce with some nice bear claw figuring. I believe back and sides are koa - which is unusual for Martin, but then I guess they don't build many of these a day.

I also think the fretbord is a bit 'too', would've liked it a bit thinner, but gawsh thats purdy

I'm sure the D50 sings like a bird and the body is not too distasteful looking but the fretboard, bridge and pick guard could best be described as oyster vomit. ☹

The body is sort of in the D45 level of trim, it's the other bits that really take it into serious bling territory.

I'm sure it sounds like a good Martin dreadnought, but I suspect this guitar doesn't go to many gigs.

I think it's well executed - which is not the same as liking it. The woods are lovely, so it's a fairly egregious gilding of a lily.
